Warren's most prominent storylines include his battles with alcoholism and addiction, various feuds and criminal dealings, having an affair with Naya Lopez, a failed marriage to Robyn Mitchell, a strong rivalry with his former step-son Brendan Brady, and being stalked by his son Richie, leading to an arrest for the murder of Cheryl Anderson, who abused Richie before jumping from a factory roof. One of the most culturally significant storylines featuring the character was when Warren was gunned down in front of at least 4 witnessed, all of whom refused to give the name of the gunman. The would-be assassin was eventually revealed as Brendan.
